Starring Aubrey Plaza, Maisy Stella and Percy Hynes White this 2024 dramadey/coming of age film gives us insight to what happens when you take shrooms. Apparently, you either hallucinate...or defy the laws of time and space (but time is a flat circle and space has no friction...so who are we to judge?) and meet your older self. An older self who doesn't answer questions, doesn't give you any insight to your future and only gives you vague warnings that don't make sense. 

 

Sneaking Out Was Too Easy (Movie Recap, The Lizzie McGuire Movie)

In honor of Hilary Duff's upcoming tour (Court has tickets), lets take a breather with this sweet, sweet Nostalgia. There were two kinds of girls in the early 2000's: the ones sneaking out and smoking cigarettes behind 7/11 and the ones who watched the Lizzie McGuire. Then there's us, as adults, rewatching it, in HORROR. Why only one chaperone for 30 kids? Lizzie just trusted Paolo at his word, no background check, not even a cell phone to call for help if things went bad. Just pure, unadulterated millennial trust. Now look at us.

But this movie, starring Zoey Deutch, Jonah Hauer-King and Ruby Cruz tells us exactly how that scenario plays out, so we don't have to do it. Its baby mama drama... times two. Drama with you, drama between them, THE FAMILY drama of explaining the whole ordeal to everyone. THE DREAD OF EXPLAINING TO YOU CHILDREN WHEN THEY GET OLDER THAT DADDY DIDN'T CHEAT, YA'LL ARE JUST FREAKY. 

No, We're Just Friends (Movie Recap, People We Meet on Vacation)

A fresh 2026, book to screen Rom Com, based on the novel by Emily Henry, starring Emily Bader and Tom Blyth (YES, President Snow, but as a brunette). This little snack features a couple that lies to themselves for years that they're not in love, while they date and almost marry other people because they're too stubborn to admit that they like each other. Not gonna lie, sometimes things can be good for just the DRAMA of it all. And this is DRAMA. 

It's Objectively Creepy (Movie Recap, Mrs. Doubtfire)

Starring Robin Williams and Sally Field, we take it WAY back with this....delightful, yet creepy family film. As children, we were on Robin Williams' side, Sally was a buzz kill. As adults and mother's, HE HAD FARM ANIMALS IN MY HOUSE FOR A PARTY I SAID WASN'T HAPPENING. To him, the divorce came out of nowhere. To her, this was the final straw on a heaping pile of straws. Let's not forget that those poor kids are gonna need a shit ton of therapy. Not because they saw their dad dressed like a woman- who hasn't- but because they formed a relationship with Mrs. Doubtfire just to learn she was fake. 

Cheertatorish to Cheermocracy (Bring It On! Movie Recap)

Like Awesome, it's a cheer movie. Oh wow, the former captain stole all the cheers. Like totally freak me out, the new cheer captain, Torrence, totally did. I mean right on, said like half the team because it was too late to learn new cheers. Toros sure are #1, because the cheated, but it won't fly this time. A little recap of nostalgia from that time all millennial girls decided Cheer was for them. And a nod to all those cheers from the movie we know are still stuck in the recesses of your mind just before everything you learned in Algebra 2.

We've already done a deep in what girlhood is, and it made us think... What is boyhood? We're not boys, but we are the mother of boys, and we think Holes is pretty close. It has all the moving parts of what we think of when we think of boyhood: crime, reptiles, questionable food choices and none of them know each other's real names. While girlhood is cozy and emotional, boyhood is frought with peril.

This 2018 Dramedy stars Mark Wahlberg, Rose Byrne, Isabela Merced, Octavia Spencer and Tig Notaro. We deep dive into the lives of two DINK, house flippers who have decided that what they need in life is... Chaos. Coming from 2 parents, going from 0 kids to 1 kid is rough. Going from 0 kids to 3 kids overnight is insanity. Throw in the fact that you skip a bunch of years and they already have personalities that you don't know. Not just that, but these kids have had it ROUGH, so they're understandably a little skeptical. Parenting can be challenging, foster parenting is a gauntlet.
